Privacy Policy

This policy applies to apps published by San Junipero. It explains what data may be processed when you use our apps and why.

General principle

Our apps only collect the data needed to operate the app, provide the features you choose to use, sync or store your content, provide support, and meet technical requirements related to the App Store.

We do not sell your personal data. Some apps may display advertising through Google AdMob; when they do, data may be processed for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, and, where permitted, personalization as described below.

Data that may be processed

Depending on the app and the features you use, the following data may be processed:

• account and authentication data, such as a user identifier or an email address when provided by the sign-in provider;
• content you voluntarily add in the app, such as text, dates, preferences, photos, files, or other information needed by the service;
• sync and cloud storage data, when the app lets you access your data across devices or share it with authorized users;
• purchase or subscription status, when the app offers an in-app purchase or subscription managed by the App Store;
• messages sent through support, the email address you provide, and technical data strictly needed to prevent abuse and respond to the request;
• advertising and device data, such as device or app identifiers, approximate location derived from an IP address, ad interactions, and diagnostic information, when an app displays ads.
• pseudonymous product usage data, such as app lifecycle, screens viewed, feature actions, app language, account mode, and Premium status, when an app uses product analytics. Search terms, media titles, Trakt identifiers, email addresses, and purchase transaction identifiers are not included in Showtime analytics.

How data is used

This data is used to:

• provide the app's features;
• sync, store, or display the content you add;
• manage purchases, subscriptions, and access rights;
• allow selected data to be shared with people you authorize, when the app offers this feature;
• respond to support requests and help protect the service.
• understand aggregate feature usage, improve the app, and measure whether product changes are useful.

Third-party services

Some apps may rely on third-party services to provide their features:

• Apple, including for the App Store, in-app purchases, subscriptions, and Sign in with Apple;
• Google or Firebase, including for authentication, storage, sync, server functions, or Google Sign-In when the app uses them.
• Google AdMob, when an app displays ads, for ad delivery, frequency capping, measurement, fraud prevention, and, where permitted, personalized advertising.
• PostHog Cloud EU, when an app uses product analytics, for pseudonymous usage measurement hosted in the European Union.

These services may process technical and personal data under their own terms and privacy policies.

Advertising and consent

Some San Junipero apps use Google AdMob to display ads. Depending on your region, device settings, consent choices, and the app configuration, AdMob may serve personalized or non-personalized ads and may process advertising identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, device and app information, ad interactions, and diagnostic data.

Where required, the app asks for your choices through Google's consent platform before requesting ads and provides a way to review those choices later. You can also limit ad personalization through your device settings. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.

Product analytics

Showtime uses PostHog Cloud EU to understand aggregate feature usage and improve the app. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in measuring and improving our products. It uses a random pseudonymous installation identifier and does not create an identified user profile or combine analytics with Trakt or advertising data. Automatic interaction capture, session replay, surveys, error tracking, and PostHog push notifications are disabled.

Product analytics is enabled by default. You can stop all future PostHog collection at any time from Showtime under Account > Manage my account > Privacy by turning off anonymous usage analytics. PostHog analytics data is retained for no longer than 25 months.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared with service providers only as needed to operate the relevant features, including AdMob when an app displays ads. Some data may also be shared with other users only when you explicitly enable a sharing feature.

Retention and deletion

Data is kept for as long as needed to operate the app or for as long as your account exists. When the app offers account or content deletion, that action deletes the related data as described by the feature.
