Four tabs, and no feed
Every tracker calls itself simple. Here is what it means here.
The whole app is four tabs
Shows, Movies, Search, Account. No nested navigation and no hidden drawer. The whole download weighs 20.5 MB.
No social layer
No friends, no following, no activity feed, no notifications from other people. Trakt has those features. Showtime does not display them.
Nothing waits on the network
Showtime opens on locally cached data and refreshes behind it. Sorting and filtering run on what is already loaded, so they apply the moment you tap.
Built after TV Time shut down
I used TV Time for years. It closed on 15 July 2026, and its servers deleted everyone's watch history with it.
I went looking for a replacement and kept finding the same thing. Capable apps, dense screens, a lot of information I never needed. What I actually did in TV Time was two things: find out which episode was next, and keep a list of what I wanted to watch.
Showtime does those two things, on Trakt, in as few taps as I could manage. Everything else was left out on purpose.
If you came from TV Time, there is more on what happened and what your options are: TV Time alternatives on iPhone.
What Showtime does
Sync with Trakt
Your shows, your watchlist and your ratings live in your Trakt account. Showtime reads from it and writes back to it, so your history stays yours even if you stop using the app.
See what to watch next
Open the app and the right episode is already there. Showtime separates what you are mid-season on, what has a new season waiting, and what you saved but never started. Shows you dropped stay out of the way.
Know what is coming
A calendar of the episodes ahead, day by day. Anything you have already watched drops off it. Premium adds Home Screen widgets and a daily summary.
Mark episodes watched
One tap and you are up to date. Skipped ahead by a few? Showtime offers to tick off the earlier ones in that season too. Tap again on something you have seen to log a rewatch or undo it.
Keep movies alongside
Films live in the same app, with a watchlist on one side and everything you have seen on the other. Sort it, filter it, rate a film, or read what other people made of it.
Start without an account
Have a look before signing up for anything. Guest mode lets you browse, search and keep three shows and three films on your phone. Connect Trakt later and Showtime offers to bring them with you.
Who it is for
Showtime is built for people who already use Trakt and want a fast, native way to manage their watch history on iPhone. You can also try it in guest mode first, without creating any account.
